A wonderful beach to spend the day. If you arrive in winter, there's a tavern there open on weekends.

💡 If the gate is closed, just keep going on the road and you'll find a convenient and easy path down to the sea.

An amazing place by the sea. Big fun pool, sea, lots of seating and great food. You need to order a few euros' worth to sit there — well worth it and you can spend many hours.

A stunning beach. On one side, to the left near the nudist beach, there are sunbeds and umbrellas.

💡 Recommended to continue a bit further north afterwards.

A super relaxed and fun place for a leisurely walk by the water. In the more central area of the promenade you'll find excellent tavernas to sit at.

In our nearest village you'll find a very lively and pleasant promenade, with a wide variety of restaurants and tavernas for every taste.

Wonderful islands in the north of the island, a trip from Kavos. Boats leave every half hour. 10 euros per person round trip (kids under 8 free). Sandy beach, excellent water. Worth it even without snorkeling.

💡 Arrive after noon — the beach empties out by 3 and that's the most pleasant time. Last boat back at 18:00.

The tavern in the village, a few minutes' walk. Very tasty with a fun selection of food and excellent meats. When you ask for the check, they'll offer you a dessert on the house.

💡 The yogurt with honey is really recommended!

A successful and highly recommended place, especially for those who love quality, well-prepared meat.

A tiny bakery (mostly bread) that we have in our village. A bit hard to find — it's really inside the area.

💡 If you can't find it, just ask locals — everyone knows where it is.

The Chalkida waterfront area — a row of tavernas, fish restaurants, bars and cafés along the water. Wide variety for every taste and budget.

💡 Most vibrant in the evening — worth walking along the promenade and choosing what speaks to you.

A really tasty and really cheap tavern in Chalkida. Highly recommended for those looking for authentic Greek food at a good price.

A one-of-a-kind place — both a mushroom growing farm and a really cool and interesting restaurant.

💡 Highly recommended to reserve in advance, or at least call before you go to make sure it's open and has a table.

A really excellent hike near Politika — you reach the marked point and then there are several marked trails. Everything is very well maintained with a great view.

A lovely and easy nature hike in the mountains along a flowing stream. Park the car conveniently on the road and set out on a one-way hiking trail. At the end you reach an area with a few nice restaurants to sit at.

💡 The most recommended restaurant of the village is actually at the entrance to it!

Highly recommended. Suitable for all ages. Comfortable and short descent from the car to the waterfall. It's more of a small falls than a big one but still pleasant and cool. All the rock around is marble — literally marble with interesting formations.

A really beautiful and well-maintained hiking trail near Politika. There are several trail options — from an easy half-hour walk to much longer routes. The place is very organized and well-kept.

💡 Go to the trailhead — there's a shop and detailed explanations about the trails.

A really beautiful hike in nature. You park the car at the starting point, walk as much as you want — and turn back when tired. One of the most beautiful trails in the area, between mountains and along a stream. Partly shaded.

A fishermen's and farmers' village by the sea, 12 minutes drive from Chalkida on the mainland. Lovely open views.

One of the most beautiful places in Evia. A village in an amazing forest, picturesque streets, a stream and lots of open water taps flowing in the streets. In winter there is snow!

💡 On the way there's a mushroom products shop.

A picturesque mountain village offering a completely different atmosphere and style than the coastal area, with an excellent restaurant.

💡 After eating, it's worth continuing by car on the winding road up toward the summit — there's an amazing view and various beauty spots to stop at.

A church inside a cave and beautiful waterfalls in a pastoral location. You can enter the water (relatively cold). On the trail to the church there are taps with clean water flowing directly from the cave.

💡 Located between Steni and Stea.

The starting point for a hike on Mount Dirfis. Stunning views.

A cute mountain village. A stream with small waterfalls and water pools runs through it, and there are hiking trails. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended waterfalls. If you continue past the point, past the town, there's a left turn ('to the falls'). A convenient dirt road of 2-3 km.

💡 You can drive there with a regular car. Highly recommended!

A beautiful gorge for nature and trails in the south of the island.

An amazing place with waterfalls. From there it's recommended to continue to Potami Beach. There's the 'lovers' bridge' at the waterfall.

💡 A seasonal place. Sit at 'Dream' — a local tavern.

A lovely place to spend fun time with the kids. The playground is open in the evenings, and on weekends also during the day. Once the kids let off steam, you can just cross the road to the 'Beach Club' and enjoy a beautiful sunset together.

💡 Recommended to check opening hours on Google before arriving, and don't forget to bring socks for the kids!

A wonderful and fun attraction for the kids. The park is about an hour's drive away, but totally worth the trip.

💡 Best to go only in peak summer, since the pool water is cool and refreshing.

A public beach with no entrance fee, with hot/boiling water pools (depending on proximity to the source) and immediately after — cold sea water.

💡 Put 'Thermae Sylla Spa & Wellness Hotel' in Waze and park next to it.

A nice shaded plaza to drink coffee. Several nice tavernas, bakeries, a butcher, and a small playground behind the church.

The nearest town. It has all types of shops, cafés, banks, and just a place to stroll. A place for errands if needed, without having to travel too far.

💡 The amusement park usually opens the second week of August.

A historic castle with a wonderful view of the Chalkida bay. It also has a café / restaurant / bar for breakfast and dinner.

Ancient Jewish cemetery and synagogue. A historical and interesting place in the heart of Chalkida.

The museum is adjacent to the archaeological site itself, which you can tour (preferably in cooler hours). There are no English explanations on-site — but you can get information at the museum itself.

💡 Recommended to tour the site in the morning or late afternoon.

A couple of artists who combine art and nature on an estate in the heart of nature, overlooking the Aegean side.

💡 You need to arrange a visit in advance.

A Venetian fortress in Karystos, south of the island.

If you're planning bigger shopping, this is the place for you. A spacious supermarket with especially cheap and worthwhile prices — ideal for stocking up for the whole vacation.

A mini-market just a 3-minute walk from home. Open most of the day and has almost everything. Prices are a bit higher, but super convenient for a quick run.

Athens' main airport — Eleftherios Venizelos. The starting and ending point for most of our guests.

💡 From airport to home: about 2 hours drive. You cross the Chalkida bridge to the island.

Car return point at the airport. Plan to arrive here about 20 minutes before you want to be at the terminal (walking time from car return to terminal).

💡 Recommended to fill up gas before arrival — there is a gas station on the road to the airport.
